eBay’s on-demand shopping delivery service has made a number of updates to its iOS app, which come with news of an Android version on the way and more cities added to its books.
eBay Now currently enables users in the US to buy goods from large stores in their area like Macy’s, Best Buy and Target from one centralised place. They are then delivered on the same day, often within an hour, by a valet working for eBay.
Version 2.0 on iOS gives users the ability to pay with PayPal or credit card at the time of order and they can now continue shopping while already waiting for a delivery. It also has a redesigned UI for better browsing and improved serach functionality.
eBay Now, which launched in October in San Francisco, already expanded to San Jose and across to NYC. It is adding the Bay Area Peninsula, Queens and Brooklyn to its delivery areas, along with Chicago and Dallas to follow this summer. The service is coming to Android in the next few weeks but is available on the mobile web for those who want to have a go today.
eBay, along with other businesses, is aware of the convenience of adding more ordering, delivery and collection opportunities. ASDA in the UK will be the first supermarket to trial online ordering with same-day collection at some of its petrol stations and other chosen points.
