eBay now offers low-cost cellular plans with every phone purchase

eBay is already popular destination for people wanting to buy mobile handsets for lower prices, so now the online marketplace wants to give people the option to add a wireless plan on top of their purchase.
Partnering with Red Pocket Mobile, which offers service on all of the major US mobile networks, customers in the US will have the option to add a cellular plan starting from $5 per month on every handset they purchase.
Red Pocket’s most popular plan, according to wireless brand is a $30 per month plan with 5GB of LTE data, unlimited data at throttled speeds, and unlimited talk, text, and international calling to more than 70 countries. Meanwhile, the Basic Plan on eBay will provide 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500MB of LTE data on any major network for $5 per month.
“Red Pocket Mobile is the natural partner for us to launch our add-on wireless plan,” said David Grim, category manager at eBay. “Because Red Pocket works on all of America’s major networks, their service can apply to virtually all of the millions of phones sold on eBay.”
