eBay has updated RedLaser for iOS, the QR code and barcode scanner app it acquired from Occipital in June 2010.
Version 4.4 adds location-based functionality in the form of the Local Deals tab, which provides store info, including opening hours and maps, as well as coupons and a map of nearby offers.
These maps are also a new feature, with the floor plans of selected Walgreens and Home Depot stores available, presenting the precise product location of the deal the user is looking for.
There is also an Android version of RedLaser, but this update is strictly for the iOS version. Whether the features will be rolled out across the platforms remains to be seen.
