Web and mobile messaging service eBuddy has clocked up more than 10m downloads on Nokia’s Ovi AStore.
eBuddy Mobile Messenger dominates the social networking category in over 15 of the largest messaging countries on Ovi Store, and is the first messaging app in the Ovi Store to reach the 10m download milestone. Collectively, eBuddy users spend nearly 2,000 years per month (there’s a ratio you don’t hear very often – Ed) engaged in eBuddy Mobile Messenger, and send more than 2.5bn messages per month from their Nokia handsets.
“Utilizing Ovi Store’s global reach, eBuddy now keeps millions of Nokia users connected with a simple, clean IM app,” says said Marco Argenti, VP, services and developer experiences at Nokia. “It’s experiences like eBuddy’s along with many other great developers who have fueled our recent announcement for Ovi Store now passing 5m downloads per day.” To date, 158 developers have surpassed the million download milestone for their apps on the Ovi Store.
eBuddy is one of world’s most successful and popular mobile messaging applications, enabling millions of users around the world to chat for free in one, aggregated interface across all major IM networks, including AIM, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, Hyves, ICQ, MySpace, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo!Messenger. eBuddy’s mobile applications have been downloaded over 120m times, and more than 19m unique mobile users access eBuddy every month, sending over 9bn mobile messages.
