EE UKs Number One Mobile Network

Googleplus_EE_avatar_1RootMetrics latest network survey has revealed that EE, the UKs first 4G mobile operator, has the best performance for internet, calls, texts, overall speed and reliability.

In the 840,000 network tests performed, EE ranked number one overall in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and came joint first in Wales. O2 ranked second overall, closely followed, and beaten, by 3 in several categories.

EE says it has spent £1bn on its network since the merger of T-Mobile and Orange that created EE in 2012. It now covers 70 per cent of the UK and will spend a further £500m on 4G expansion to another 25 per cent of the population.

“Today’s results show that the EE network gives customers everywhere in the UK the best mobile experience,” said Olaf Swantee, CEO at EE. “This is down to our ongoing investment in introducing 4G, increasing 3G capacity and upgrading 2G, while also spending hundreds of millions on phone call quality.”

The first ever UK-wide RootScore Report, which saw the analyst team visit each nation in the United Kingdom, is also an industry-first comparison.
