Eggberry Quits RIM for Nokia Role

Nokia has appointed Charmaine Eggberry, previously vice president & managing director, EMEA, at RIM, to the role of senior vice president – marketing, with responsibility for Go-To-Market Operations (GTMO). The role oversees all aspects of marketing development and execution globally, as well as aligning with other core functions in bringing Nokia devices and services to market.

At RIM, she had overall responsibility for the companys Europe, Africa and Middle East business, including its growth targets and all sales and marketing activities. She has extensive senior level experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Before joining RIM, she worked for Lucent Technologies, where she held several positions including the roles of global business partner marketing director and marketing director, EMEA. She holds an MBA and is a board trustee of the Marketing Academy.

Looks like Nokia really is gearing up for that battle.
