eServGlobal Hires Paolo Montessori

Telecoms software vendor eServGlobal has hired Paolo Montessori as vice president, mobile money. The position is newly created and, according to the company, reflects the growth of the mPayments industry.

Prior to joining eServGlobal, Montessori was VP sales at Comviva, and over the past three years has focused on delivering mobile money solutions.

“I have found that successful Mobile Money solutions share three essential ingredients: market-proven expertise, a continuous focus on innovation and the agility to respond to specific local conditions,” says Montessori. “I believe all these elements are present at eServGlobal, and I look forward to being part of their continuing success story.”

Analyst Berg Insight has forecast the number of mobile money subscribers in emerging markets will grow from 133m users in 2010 at a CAGR of 40 per cent, to reach 709m users in 2015. The total value of mobile money transactions, meanwhile, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 54 percent from $25bn in 2010 to $215bn in 2015.
