Any televised event worth its salt has a second screening app these days, and this years Eurovision Song Contest is no exception.
The official app, available for free on iOS and Android, will provide users with info on each of the artists as they appear on screen – their biography and info on the country theyre representing, as well as live lyrics to encourage multilingual wailing from the sofa.
In the run-up to the big day – which is marked in the app with a to-the-second countdown – it also features video, image and text updates.
As well as promoting the show, the apps main purpose is driving votes, with an in-app registration process which enables users to pay for their vote via PayPal. Unfortunately, this functionality isnt available in all European territories – including, notably, the UK.
