Ever Wondered About Mobile Marketing in Brazil?

The Brazil Business has produced a video covering the state of mobile marketing in Brazil – revealing that, with 220m devices and a population of 192m, there are more mobiles than people. 80 per cent of the mobile devices are on pre-paid tariffs – meaning that the reach of mobile internet isnt huge, and that the focus is primarily on SMS marketing.

There are, however, 35m 3G-enabled devices in Brazil, and carriers are preparing to launch 4G services. According to the IAB, the overall national online ad investment reached $3.1bn last year.

Interviewed for the video, Edvaldo Acir, Exponential Interactive general manager Brazil, says: “The demographic reach in mobile marketing in Brazil is mainly in the South East, with states like Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Minas Gerais.”
