Facebook Updates iOS SDK

Facebook has released version 3.1 of its iOS SDK, adding support for the Facebook integration introduced in iOS 6.

This integration enables developers to build native sharing functionality and Facebook Login – meaning apps can automate the log-in process, bypassing the users need to enter their email and password each time they connect an app to their profile.

The updated SDK also provides more advanced functionality for social distribution and promotion of apps, including friends, places, and profile picture integration. Theres also analytics functionality, currently in beta, which enables developers to track the effectiveness of their Facebook mobile ads.

Its all part of Facebooks attempt to improve its mobile offering, which its famously struggled with this year, and eventually help bolster advertising revenues from the channel.
