First UK, which runs around 20 per cent of the UK's bus services, has launched a mobile ticketing solution.
The First UK Android and iOS app will be rolled out over the course of 2014, serving 40 cities and towns including Aberdeen and Worcester.
2.3m passengers travel with the bus provider every single day and it's hoped mobile ticketing will speed up the service and help those that don't carry change.
“I am confident that our investment in m-ticketing will be enthusiastically welcomed by our customers and strongly supports our strategy to attract new one," said Giles Fearnley, MD at First UK Bus, said: We are delighted to be working with Corethree and are looking forward to bringing M Ticketing to life across our UK operations this year.”
The mTicketing platform is provided by CoreThree, which already supplies these services to the likes of Lothian Bus and Wessex Bus.
