Fjord Co-Founder Returns to Company

Digital design agency Fjord has announced that co-founder Mark Curtis is to return to the company as chief client officer. Curtis left the company in 2005 to run Fjord offshoot Flirtomatic. Curtis stepped down from that role earlier this year.

As chief client officer, Curtis will oversee sales, marketing and strategy, and serve as a board member. He will report to fellow Fjord founder and current CEO Olof Schybergson.

“We are very excited to be welcoming Mark back into the Fjord family proper, after a sojourn at our breakaway company, Flirtomatic,” says Schybergson. “We know that Mark brings with him a wealth of experience in a very different environment, in a venture-backed start up, which he will apply to his work at Fjord. It will be this entrepreneurial spirit that Mark is famed for that will help us to lead our work in digital from branding to designing for the internet of things.”

Curtis says: “I began working in digital innovation in 1993 when I met Fjord founder and chairman Mike and after 18 years in this sector I am still constantly taken aback by the speed of innovation at Fjord. I want to evolve and grow the companys offering and I believe there is no end of opportunity for extraordinary new services to be invented, designed and delivered, especially with the talented team I see at Fjord. The quality of the people, their innovative nature and game-changing work for their clients inspired me to return and I could not think of anything better or more natural than to apply the new knowledge I have gained to help lead the company forwards.”
