Flirtomatic Courts the iPhone

Flirtomatic, the London-based mobile and online flirting service, has released its alpha version of Flirtomatic for the iPhone and iTouch. The company says this is a major step in the services development, which will increase its potential user base and enhance the user interface.
The Alpha version is available worldwide and has a new enriched mobile interface which has been built specifically for the iPhone and iTouch user. The feature set includes registration, login, chat, search, rating and the ability to send and receive gifts. Flirtomatic says it is currently the only service in the UK to have optimised all of these features for the iPhone. Further functionality including location search will be available shortly.
The development of the alpha version will bring the Flirtomatic experience to a new level that we will be looking to implement with other handsets in the future, says CEO Mark Curtis. This launch underscores our commitment to innovation and rapid evolution. We live in a mobile age and consumers increasingly expect to access entertainment whenever and wherever they choose. This launch provides a service that is quicker and easier to use, bringing us a step closer to our goal.
Flirtomatic expects to see further take-up of its service by iPhone users following the anticipated launch of the 3G iPhone. Industry analysis by M:Metrics re-enforces the potential take-up from iPhone users, given that the phone is already the most popular device for using the mobile web. 85% of iPhone users accessed news and information in January 2008, and 49.7% accessed a social networking site, nearly 12 times the market average. iTouch users can access the same service over wi-fi.
This latest launch is part of Flirtomatics long-term strategy of extending its user base and enhancing the user experience. The company has over 800,000 regsitered users, and almost 400,000 mobile users in the UK alone. In May, over 1 million messages a day were sent between users, generating 21 million web page views and 115 million WAP page views.
