Flytxt Reveals Expansion Plans

Flytxt, one of the oldest names in mobile marketing, which sold its agency business to Buongiorno in 2007 to concentrate on its Neon mobile marketing platform, says it is planning a major expansion. Speaking at the company’s Board Meeting held in Cape Town, S. Africa last week, Flytxt chairman David Harper said: “The market demand for mobile marketing and advertising is accelerating significantly and we are going to scale rapidly to meet this demand with a specific focus on India and Africa where the growth is most dramatic.”

Flytxt says one major reason for the upsurge in demand is the availability of products such as Neon, which can transform the effectiveness of mobile operators’ efforts to promote voice, data and Value Added Services (VAS) products, and improve the customer experience by eliminating intrusive, mass-market, blind campaigns. The increase in revenue that more targeted campaigns can achieve is significant and accurately measurable, says Flytxt, adding that over the last 18 months, it has secured a number of major partnerships with Tier-1 mobile operators.

“We are increasing people and resources rapidly, and at the same time consolidating our management leadership in India and S. Africa,” says Flytxt group CEO, Vinod Vasudevan. “Global expansion will take place from these geographies. Flytxt will release new products over the next six months that will transform the mobile operator’s role in the mobile advertising ecosystem.”

Flytxt’s corporate office is in Netherlands. Its operational headquarters are located in Technopark, Trivandrum, India, which will expand over 100 per cent over the next nine – 12 months. The company says it is looking to increase its headcount in sales, product consulting and technical support, located in Delhi, Mumbai and Johannesburg. Total headcount will grow from 100 to over 200 over the next year.
