O2 has appointed a former senior Microsoft salesperson to head up its O2 More mobile advertising offering.
Tom Hosking, former EMEA Windows Live sales lead, is taking up the role of Head of O2 More – O2s loyalty offers and information service for consumer O2 customers.
Hoskings role is new for O2, and he will be responsible for growing O2 Mores customer base, which currently stands at over 2m users, according to the company. He will be responsible for deploying a number of inititiatives and strategies to identify customer needs in terms of special offers.
Hosking will report to Jason Tunstall, head of products and services at O2 Media. Tunstall says of the appointment: “Tom has a huge amount of experience and will bring O2 Media an immense amount of fresh insight and knowledge. He has already outlined some very impressive plans to continue growth, and he will be a real benefit to the O2 Media team.”
Hosking adds: “We have already attracted over 2m O2 customers to O2 More, and our plan is to dramatically increase this, so that our commercial partners are given a new, engaging and effective route to market. I will be ensuring that the recruitment of new O2 More members is beneficial to both O2 customers and our partners. I will be evaluating the strategies used to date to see how we can build on the early successes that weve been able to demonstrate.”
Prior to his appointment at O2 Media, Hosking worked at Microsoft Advertising. He joined in 2007 as regional sales manager and was promoted to EMEA Windows Live sales lead in 2009.
