Four Seasons Condoms launches childrens show to distract kids while parents get it on

Australia’s Four Seasons Condoms has teamed up with ad agency Marcel Sydney and Paris to design an online puppet-style kids’ entertainment program, and accompanying mobile website, to help distract kids while their parents get jiggy with it.

The Extendables site pairs a smartphone to a tablet, computer or smart TV and streams the show for the children’s entertainment.

If it works, parents can choose to continue their fun by ‘extending’ the show by five minutes through the app. If the kids get bored and move away from the screen, the app alerts the parents through their smartphone – so they can quickly make it look like nothing was happening.

Wesley Hawes, deputy ECD at Marcel Sydney, told B&T in a statement: “This is a real issue that affects nearly all parents at some point of their lives and I hope our fuzzy friends allow parents around the world to reconnect again. I’m the target audience. I’ve got two children – a three-year-old and a seven-week-old, and I haven’t had sex for about four years.”

If you haven’t figured it out yet, Four Seasons Condoms doesn’t expect parents to use the the program to take care of their children, and points out that the show has been ‘developed as a novelty’.
