FourFourTwo Launches Free Weekly Footie App

442Football magazine FourFourTwo has launched Football Weekly, a cross-platform digital publication powered by Kaldor’s Pugpig platform. The new app is designed to be read on mobile and tablet and will be available via iTunes and Google Play every Thursday evening.

The app offers a weekly snapshot of the game, combining analysis, insight and interviews with a digest of the week’s big stories and previews of the weekend ahead. Use of a CMS-driven workflow means the editorial team only needs to create content once before publishing across multiple platforms.

“FourFourTwo will celebrate its 20th birthday this year,” said FourFourTwo brand director, Hugh Sleight. “While it continues to be incredibly successful, we are committed to building cross-platform products that deliver what our audience needs.

“While the world is hardly short of digital football content, we felt that what was missing was a product that cuts through the noise and delivers insight and analysis on a weekly basis. Our familiarity with the Pugpig platform means that creating each issue is a straightforward and painless experience that allows us to focus on creating great content, safe in the knowledge we’ll be able to deliver it in a simple, beautiful way that enables all of our passionate readers to stay on the pulse.”
