FT iPad App Clocks Up 130,000 Downloads

The FT’s iPad app has been downloaded 130,000 times in the two weeks since it launched. The figure was revealed by Stephen Pinches, lead product development manager for the FT, at the M-Publishing conference this afternoon.

Pinches said the key to getting people to pay for an app was to let them experience at least some of its functionality for free first, describing it as: “a bit like drug dealing”.
