G2 Esports, a leading esports organisation has partnered with millennial-focused global channel and content producer, Insight TV to co-produce online esport talent search 'G2 Making the Squad: Fortnite Edition'.
The fourth in the G2 Making the Squad series, the online show will scout for world-class talent and create 'Fortnight in real life'.
In 'G2 Making the Squad: Fortnite Edition' 10 of the funniest, most engaging Fortnite streamers compete for a coveted spot on the G2 Esports Creator roster. Contestants will be tested not only on their Fortnite gaming skills, but on how well they can transfer what they’ve learned in Fortnite into fun, dynamic In-Real-Life (IRL) challenges inspired by the game.
These IRL challenges will take place in the rolling hills, dense forest, and open clearings of Italy, where contestants compete in a series of challenges inspired by popular Fortnite elements. These range from dodging obstacles and chasing down opponents to performing the smoothest dance moves.
For the second year running Pringles will be the presenting partner for G2 Making the Squad. This includes the return of the Pringles Playroom - a tailor-made space where contestants will be able to gather, train and debrief after their challenges - and announcements about the challenges on the Pringles Projector.
Pringles cans will also be used as rewards during the challenges and Pringles will support the promotion of G2 Making the Squad across social media.
The series is a follow up to Insight TV and G2 Esports’ successful collaboration on 'Making the Squad: FIFA Edition'.
“Making the Squad was a serious hit last year, so it felt only natural to partner with Insight TV again. They’re top of the game when it comes to producing successful shows and series four of Making the Squad will be no different," said CEO and Founder of G2 Esports, Carlos Rodriguez.
"Fortnite is a big priority at G2, from both a competitive and creator standpoint. Being able to make 'G2 Making the Squad: Fortnite Edition' come to life and find new talent is an exciting moment for us. Making the Squad is an opportunity to bring G2 esports expertise and our jokey and playful attitude against each other into real life. I could not be happier for this next series to come.”
