German News App Implements apprupts App Recommendation Tools

apprupt, the performance network for mobile apps, has integrated its app recommendation tools, including its context-sensitive ‘Contvertising’ format, into Gruner & Jahr’s stern.de iPhone app.

The stern.de app, one of the first German news apps, currently has 791,000 unique mobile users in the German mobile web market, making it it Germanys leading mobile news application. The implementation of apprupt’s app recommendation formats into the app means that users get contextual app recommendations within articles, as well as on the app’s homepage. They can then obtain detailed information on all the recommended apps in the integrated App Shop.

apprupt says its app recommendations, in particular the Contvertising format, promise publishers an additional monetization option for their mobile traffic, while at the same time adding value to their product.

“The current cooperation with stern.de emphasises that our in-house-developed Contvertising technology has already established itself within the market during its first year, as a complementary format for monetization in the mobile premium publisher segment,” explains apprupt founder and managing director, Jascha Samadi.
