GetGlue Rebrands as TVTag

GetGlueTV check-in platform GetGlue is rebranding to TVTag, following its acquisition by second-screen company i.TV last November.

As well as a more self-explanatory name – GetGlue enables users to tell others what they’re currently watching in exchange for virtual stickers and occasionally rewards – the rebrand will see the app switch from a predominantly blue design to red.

The announcement also promised that GetGlue would be incorporating “a ton of new features” based on user feedback, though theres no indication of what this will involve.

GetGlue, which was founded in 2010, believes it is responsible for driving an estimated 30 per cent of tweets during primetime TV in the US.
