e-business solutions provider Globo has announced the appointment of Nikos Giannakakos as Business Development Manager, as part of a major expansion drive to take its Value Added Services (VAS) into the mobile phone market. Greek-based Globo is an established European SaaS (Software as a Service) vendor.
Giannakakos joins Globo from the Commercial Division of Vodafone Greece, where he was Group Brand Manager for VAS Marketing. In this role, he worked on the formulation of the companys international VAS strategy for the sourcing, development, commercialisation and revenue of Vodafones VAS portfolio, including Vodafone Live! and third party VAS, and was responsible for their local implementation. Giannakakos looked after over 600 services and more than 80 third party partners and will utilise this experience in his new role at Globo.
We plan to grow the business by 70% this year, and we believe Nikos is the perfect addition to the team to support this ambitious growth plan, says Globo CEO and Founder, Costis Papadimitrakopoulos. He has proven experience in the mobile industry, having been employed in several managerial positions at Vodafone, including Group Brand Manager and Group Product Development Manager, performing key functions within those roles. This has given him great experience in Value Added Service, Content Services and Consumer VAS, all of which will enable him to enhance Globos already-strong mobile team.
