Google Adds Direct App Installs to Search

Google is testing the ability to install apps directly from search results, without needing to go via the Play Store.
Its this last bit which is key – app install results have been present in the Google app since 2014. Users are just shown a list of permissions to accept and then an install button in a pop-up frame on top of the search results. This removes one step from the install process, which could Google a vital lead over the likes of Facebook when it comes to app install ads.
According to Android Police, an increasing number of users have started seeing this feature over the past month, suggesting theres a wider rollout on the way.
