Google Assistant can now alert users of possible flight delays

People that travel often will know that flight delays happen quite a lot and, knowing this, Google began using artificial intelligence within its ‘Flights’ travel search to predict delays earlier this year. Now, in an extension of this feature, Assistant will begin proactively notifying users when Google’s algorithm has predicted that a flight is likely to be departing late.
Google’s flight prediction algorithm uses machine learning technology to look at historic flight status data and make a judgement based on this information as to whether a flight is likely to be delayed. 
As well as Google Assistant being able to notify users when a flight might be delayed, which will be rolled out over the next few weeks, the AI assistant will now be able to show predicted flight delays when asked by the user. For example, people can ask ‘Hey Google, is my flight on time?’ or ‘Hey Google, what’s the status of my [insert airline name] from [insert city] to [insert city]?’
