Google is making it easier for businesses to take bookings

Reserve with GoogleGoogle opened up its ‘Reserve with’ feature to all US businesses with My Business accounts, after initially trialling it with select fitness, wellness and beauty businesses.

With Reserve with Google, businesses are able to add a booking button to their search listing, meaning potential customers can make reservations or appointments with businesses the search results page.

For businesses to get the button, they, as mentioned above, must have a Google My Business account. From here, they have to sign up with one of Google’s supported scheduling providers – unless they already have an account with one of these providers, in which case the booking button will automatically be added to the Google listing. Once this process is complete, businesses are able to track bookings from within their My Business account.

“When potential customers search online for the ideal salon or the perfect gym class, they’re trying to decide which one is best for them,” said Paul Cole, product manager for Google My Business, in a blog post. “Booking buttons can help your business stand out from the crowd. People can book an appointment in under a minute directly through your listing—and you make it easy for them to become customers. And you can quickly track how many bookings you get from your Google My Business dashboard.”

The booking button feature is being rolled out to the US over the next few days. Google says it will add the option in other countries and businesses categories soon.
