Google has integrated its Android Pay service with mobile banking apps around the world in a bid to make it easier for users to use their cards with Android Pay.

The tech giant has joined up with Bank of America, Bank of New Zealand, Discover, mBank and USAA – enabling customers at these banks to add cards to Android Pay from their mobile banking app. Once cards have been added, Android Pay can be used to tap and pay via the user’s smartphone, and through certain apps and mobile websites. Android Pay sends notifications after each successful transaction.

In addition, select mobile banking apps will provide access to the capabilities of Android Pay – even if the users doesn’t have the Android Pay app installed.

“This latest collaboration with banks expands Android Pay’s capabilities as an open platform, and moves us closer toward our goal of empowering mobile payments everywhere,” said Pali Bhat, global head of payment products at Google, in a blog post. “We’re continuing to integrate with additional mobile banking apps.”
