Yesterday, we took a quick look at the ways in which companies are responding to the incoming iOS 6 and, presumably, iPhone 5. Now heres another from Google, which appears to be planning a rival to Apples iTunes gift cards.
The updated APK for version 3.8.15 of the Google Play Store reportedly includes room for the redemption of its own gift cards – which have since been spotted in the wild, in denominations of $10 and $25. Its currently unclear whether these gift cards will reach the UK or any other territories.
The update also hints at a Wishlist, which apps, books, videos or songs can be added to from the Play Store, for purchase later or be perused by friends and family looking for a more digital stocking-filler.
