Google Strengthens Role of Tablet Apps in Play Store

Google has announced a number of updates to the Play Store slated for 21 November, including a new default setting that only presents apps designed for tablets to people using those devices.

Apps that do not meet the designed for tablets criteria will be marked as designed for phones. Tablet browsers will be able to browse between Top Paid, Top Free, Top Grossing, Top New Paid, Top New Free, and Trending apps, but will also be able to switch to look at smartphone apps.

Google has minimum requirement guidelines, as well as detailed instructions on how to update apps for tablet users.
