Google Testing Wallet Payments for Glass

Google Glass Earbud User Excited WomanGoogle is reportedly working to integrate Google Wallet into its Glass wearable device in order to enable the wearer to send money to their friends with a “send money” voice command.

The service is currently being tested internally, according to TechCrunch, with the intention of rolling out to the public in future.

Compelling use cases for Googles smartglasses are still thin on the ground and while theres no reason this functionality couldnt be replicated on smartphones – after all, its essentially a wearable version of Barclays Pingit service – there is a clear appeal to being able to immediately split a bill with friends with a couple of swipes.

From Googles perspective, of course, theres the added benefit of commission on each transaction – currently 2.9 per cent for Wallet.
