Googles Project Fi now offers a variant of an unlimited plan

Google Project Fi Bill ProtectionGoogle has created its own version of an unlimited plan for its Project Fi mobile virtual network by combining its existing pricing with the idea of a supposed unlimited data offering.

With ‘Bill Protection’, users who go through more than 6GB of data in a month will see their charges capped at $80 for calls, texts, and data. For those who consume over 15GB of data, slower data speeds will be applied – however, they have the option of opting out of slower speeds and returning to Project Fi’s normal $10 per GB plan for their excessive usage.

Previously, Google would refund its customers at the end of the month for the data they haven’t used. Now, users will only pay for the amount they use, meaning no more refunds are needed.

Bill Protection applies to all of Project Fi’s features, including its high speed data in more than 135 countries, and data-only SIM cards for laptops, tablets, or cars.
