OpenCloud, which supplies in-network application servers for next-generation convergent telecommunications services, has appointed Jeff Gordon to the position of Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect. Gordon, who was appointed Chairman of OpenClouds board of directors in June 2007, succeeds Stephen Newton, who continues on the board as a Non-executive Director, and will be actively involved in a business development capacity.
Gordon has more than 28 years industry experience, and an outstanding track record, having held executive leadership roles with large corporate entities in the telecoms sector. The company says his strong operational and management skills will strengthen OpenClouds position as a significant global player in the next-generation telecoms network application server market.
Previously, Gordon headed up Motorolas EMEA infrastructure business, for which he was responsible for 1,400 employees and $1.6 billion (815 million) in annual revenues. Prior to Motorola, Gordon chaired the Unisys European management board. He has spent the last eight years working specifically in the telecommunications sector building software businesses such as Axiom Systems, which provides service delivery solutions to the telecommunication industry, and Celltick which provides mobile content discovery and marketing solutions, and where Gordon remains as Chairman.
