Gorillabox, the fully-managed Mobile TV enabler, has revealed that it partnered with international London-headquartered AIDS charity 46664 and mobile operator 3 to provide Mobile TV content from Nelson Mandelas birthday concert, streamed live from Hyde Park on 27 June. Gorillabox hosted and managed the video content from the live event, which included performances from Queen, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse and Razorlight, and made it available over mobile networks across the UK in conjunction with 3.
Gorillabox also created a dedicated mobile Internet site for 46664, which was promoted from 3s own site. Gorillabox is hosting, managing and deploying free and chargeable video content, as well as promotional content, on the site.
46664 is proud to be teaming up with the experts at Gorillabox to reach new audiences through mobile phones, says 46664 International Co-ordinator, Cosmo Caddy. 46664 has always made use of global media platforms to get our message across through great content. With Gorillabox, we now have mobile as an additional channel to reach people who want to consume video content in this way and learn more about 46664.
Gorillabox is responsible for the deployment of content on the streaming platform, billing integration and customer care, while 46664 markets the service and works with Gorillabox on making live video content available from the concert.
Gorillabox is pleased to be able to support this important charity, says Gorillabox Founder and CEO, Christian Harris. The benefit of this mobile portal is not simply to offer great music videos from a galaxy of the worlds biggest musicians and celebrities, but also to improve accessibility for areas around the world where people cant get access to a PC.
