Grapple Helps Bring Britains Got Talent to Mobile

Britains Got Talent, the Ant and Dec-fronted TV talent show, is back on ITV for a fifth series this weekend, and fans of the show will have plenty of options to interact with it via mobile thanks to a mobile app developed with Grapple Mobile.

The Britains Got Talent mobile app is available on iPhone, Android, Nokia, and BlackBerry devices and brings video, news, and photo galleries from the show to the mobile platform. The shows famous red buzzers – which judges use to reject contestants – have been incorporated into the app, so users can also reject video auditions they dont care for.

This red buzzer idea extends across the shows multimedia offering – from a Facebook app to the website, as well as the mobile app. Fans can interact with the show via a Facebook page, a Twitter profile (@gottalent), and through Twitter hashtags #britainsgottalent; #bgtbackstage; and #bgt).

Robert Marsh, Head of talkbackTHAMES digital says: “The digital elements for Britains Got Talent get better each year, and 2011 is no exception. The aim is to provide fans with entertaining and innovative ways to engage with the show, both outside of the broadcast and also within the programme itself, wherever they may be, and weve definitely achieved that with a new multi-platform mobile app, lots of extra content and community engagement on Facebook and Twitter, and the infamous Social buzzer.”

Britains Got Talent will be back on your TV screens this Saturday, 16 April. The apps are currently listed as “Coming soon” on the Britains Got Talent website
