Users can take advantage of unique mobile community features, such as user-generated game reviews, contests, top 10 lists, and a five-star game rating.
Winners will be announced on 1 May, and honoured at the 11th Annual Webby Awards Gala in New York City on 5 June. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian and actor Rob Corddry, star of Foxs new sitcom, The Winner.
Hailed as the Oscars of the Internet by The New York Times, the Webby Awards, founded in 1996, is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet, including websites, interactive advertising, online film & video, and mobile websites. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a global organisation that includes David Bowie, Harvey Weinstein, Arianna Huffington, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser.
Were truly honored to have the GameJump mobile site nominated for a Webby award, says Greystripe CEO Michael Chang. Its a great honour, because it validates the idea that ad-supported mobile content, like free games, is the future for the mobile web.
As a nominee for a Webby Award, GameJump is also eligible to win a Peoples Voice Award. Voting is open to the public until 27 April here.
