The GSM Association (GSMA) has launched Mobile World Live, an online portal that it says will serve as a critical information resource for the mobile communications industry. The GSMA says that Mobile World Live will deliver fresh, dynamic content and networking opportunities to mobile industry executives in an easy-to-consume, convenient and interactive Web 2.0 experience. The GSMA is launching Mobile World Live in conjunction with Decisive Media, whose services include streamed video and live, interactive webcasts
With Mobile World Live, were extending the benefits of our flagship events to the online world, offering a combination of insightful, informative programming and important networking opportunities, says GSMA CEO, Michael OHara, Central to Mobile World Live is the contextual relationship between the content and the ability for the community to interact with each other, the speakers and the content, providing a rich experience unique to each user.
At launch, Mobile World Live incorporates functionality including the Mobile World Live TV, Mobile World Live Conference and Mobile World Live Media Centre properties:
Mobile World Live TV is an online TV channel carrying regular programming that covers key issues, trends, insights and news for the mobile industry. Regular programming will include CEO insights, analyst viewpoints and features that cover mobile broadband, mobile lifestyle services and content.
Mobile World Live Conference makes content from the GSMAs conferences, such as Mobile World Congress, Mobile Asia Congress, Mobile Money Summit and Mobile Innovation events, available for replay to audiences worldwide.
Mobile World Live Media Centre is an online media centre, featuring streaming news from Mobile Business Briefing, as well as announcements and materials from the GSMA and companies across the mobile ecosystem.
Future capabilities to be delivered through Mobile World Live include Mobile World Live Webinar, a series of web conferences that will bring together industry leaders to discuss and debate key trends and issues, including a moderated interaction with the online viewers; and Mobile World Live Showcase, which enables companies to present information about their strategies, technologies and offerings to prospective customers.
