Half of UK Mobile Gamblers are Mobile-exclusive

2.2m people in the UK access gambling sites on mobile only – thats nearly half of the total 5m mobile gambling audience. Thats according to comScore senior account manager Colin Burrows, who kicked off todays Mobile Gaming & Gambling Summit with a market overview packed with stats.

Around 60-70 per cent of the mobile traffic seen by leading gambling sites is mobile exclusive, rising as high as 84 per cent in some cases.

The PC market is still more than three times the size of mobile, with a total UK audience of 16.5m – though its worth noting that these arent all exclusively desktop gamblers.

Whos betting on mobile?

Mobile gamblers are still dominantly male (76 per cent), but Burrows said that female usage is growing rapidly. The most common age group is 25-34 years old, with 47 per cent of the audience on iOS devices, and 42 per cent on Android. Unsurprisingly, the amount of smartphone users is well over the national average, at 88 per cent.

30 per cent access mobile gambling sites almost every day, while 54 per cent access them at least once a month.
