Halifax Launches Cashback Offers In-app with Morrisons, New Look and Homebase

Halifax is offering its customers the opportunity to earn cashback from a range of high street retailers when using its mobile and online banking platforms.

 Halifax Cashback Extras are targeted based on purchase history and customers can browse and accept different offers when accessing their account online or in-app. After clicking on the advertised offer, they can earn cashbank of between five a 15 per cent when shopping with the relevant retailer using their credit or debit card.

The campaign has been created by Cardlytics and this is the first deployment of this kind in the the UK. Cardlytics says it already works with around 400 US banks and its card-linked marketing platform gives the company insight into the spending of 70 per cent of US households. The platform drove more than $500m in retail spend in Q4 2012, the company said.

Morrisons, Argos, Homebase, New Look, Pets at Home, Marriott and O2 are among the launch partners for the campaign, which goes live in September. The Halifax app is available on iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone.
