Hands-On Brings Guitar Hero to Mobiles

Hands-On Mobile, which publishes mobile lifestyle, games and personalisation products, has announced an agreement with Activision, Inc. to bring the popular Guitar Hero franchise to mobile devices.
Since its launch in 2005, Guitar Hero has become one of the most popular console games, with Guitar Hero II topping the charts as the best-selling console and handheld game in dollars for the US for the month of December, according to The NPD Group.
With the addition of Guitar Hero, Hands-On Mobile expands its current crop of mobile games and applications, which include the Activision franchise Call of Duty, as well as other top brands.
Guitar Hero is an epic game experience that has mushroomed into a cultural phenomenon, says Erik Pavelka, Vice President of Business Development at Hands-On Mobile. We are thrilled to bring this award-winning franchise to mobile and to continue our successful relationship with Activision.
Hands-On has worked closely with Activision in the past on fully integrated campaigns, as Activision views mobile as an ideal complement to the traditional game sales. When Call of Duty 3 launched, for example, Hands-On had flyers in all XBox 360 versions of the game, as well as inserts in a number of major computer magazines that pushed downloads of a fully playable demo version of the mobile game. This enabled both Hands-On and Activision to collect data for future promotions, and Hands-On says it hopes to run a similar campaign to support the launch of Guitar Hero on mobile.
