Handset Conference One Month Away

Informa Telecoms Handsets World conference takes place at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam from 15 17 May. The event includes a 3-day conference, with 80 confirmed speakers, six different strategic and techical tracks, 15 keynotes, 11 panels, 63 presentations and five workshops. Topics to be addressed include an evaluation of the horizontal integration of industry and balance of power in the value web; next generation Web 2.0 web browsing Web 2.0, marketing, branding, positioning and promoting handsets, and the need for increased segmentation in the handset market; and improving costs, including power, storage, camera and music trends in devices.
Informa says the event provides an ideal platform to unite, analyse and influence the mobile device ecosystem, and to benefit from best practice case studies from around the world. Networking opportunities include an online meeting system, and a Gala Dinner and Cocktail Drinks Reception, with over 400 attendees. The event also includes a Designer Dragons Den, where ODMs, CDMs and design houses will pitch their latest handset concept designs.
Theres a pre-conference workshop on 14 May on the theme of Creating an Embedded Media Processing Ecosystem, led by Neil Trevett, President of Khronos, as well as a post-conference workshop on 18 May, on the theme of Building UMA-enabled Dual-Mode Handsets, including sessions from Orange and Samsung.
