Hertz Launches Apps for Major Platforms

Car rental company Hertz has launched free apps for Android, Nokia, and BlackBerry devices.

The apps, which were created by app development agency Grapple Mobile, give consumers access to Hertz car rental booking facilities worldwide and around the clock.

Hertz launched an iPhone application, which offers similar functionality, in 2010. The new apps also complement Hertzs mobile website, which can be found at www.hertz.mobi

The three new apps for Android, Nokia and Blackberry allow customers to reserve a car, change their reservation, or log-in and update their profile. All of the apps are available to download free from Hertzs website.

Michel Taride, president of Hertz International and executive vice president of Hertz Corporation, says: “We strive to ensure that reserving with Hertz is as easy as possible for everyone. With the rise of smartphones, more and more people – both in business and pleasure – are booking and managing their rentals on mobile sites.  Our iPhone app has proven to be extremely popular globally, and were really excited to be adding these new apps so that those using Android, Nokia and BlackBerry handsets can access the same benefits and easy booking solutions on the move.”

Alistair Crane, Grapple Mobile CEO says: “It is great to see a global brand like Hertz acknowledging the importance of offering their services to the widest possible audience across multiple mobile platforms. This is now imperative for any brand wanting to engage the majority of their customer base and obtain significant reach.”
