Hilton Adds Mobile Check-in, Smartphone Room Keys Coming 2015

Hilton Worldwide has introduced digital check-in and room selection at over 4,000 of its hotels for members of HHonors loyalty scheme.
From 6am on the day before they arrive, users can check in via a digital lobby on a mobile device, or desktop, and browse floorplan maps or lists to pick the preferred room for their stay. The site also promotes upgrades and amenities which the guest can request ahead of arrival, at an extra cost. 
Members can also check out digitally and have the bill sent to their email. This means users only need to wait at the front desk to pick up their key, something which Hilton intends to remove in 2015 as it introduces the ability to use smartphones as room keys, rolling out to all US hotels under four of its brands by the end of the year.
