Hinge launches refreshed design and new features to encourage people to get off the app

Dating app Hinge has unveiled a new visual design alongside the launch of two features aimed at providing a little more help to daters trying to find their ideal match.

Hinge says its updated design uses colours that are naturally found in the outside world and is aimed at encouraging users to spend less time in the app and more time actually meeting up with others.

This new design has been accompanied by the introduction of ‘Standouts’. The Standouts feed features prompts and photo prompts from potential matches who are most a user’s type. And, in order to show that you’re interested in someone in this feed, users have to send a ‘Rose’, which is a premium ‘like’ to enable users to show a greater level of interest in a potential match.

According to the app, sending someone a Rose doubles the chances of that person going on a date you, and starting a conversation in Standouts makes you almost 50 per cent more likely to go on a date with them also.
