HMV Launches 7Digital-powered Music App in Canada

HMV in Canada has launched a digital music service powered by 7digital.
The service will enable users to purchase music on their mobile, searching the catalogue using the apps image and audio recognition features, which link together the physical and digital products through the cover, or hearing a track being played.
7digital last month partnered with the retailer in the UK and Ireland to provide the same service. 
Ben Drury, CEO of 7digital said, “We have been working with HMV since 2009 and are excited to be involved in their new digital strategy. Retailers are an important part of the music lovers experience and should look to this sort of innovation for products that make sense to consumers in the real world.”
