2ergo, the AIM-listed provider of convergent mobile communication solutions, has joined forces with UK property website Rightmove, to assist in the expansion of Rightmoves services into the mobile arena.
2ergo says it was selected for its extensive knowledge of Location Based Services (LBS), map delivery, and its business approach to developing mobile Internet sites. The company has been contracted to develop an engaging mobile presence for Rightmove that will deliver property details to homebuyers on the move, as well as capturing valuable sales leads for Rightmoves 11,500 estate agent branch members.
Launched last week, as part of Vodafone Mobile Internet, the new service will initially be available exclusively to Vodafone customers, providing them with enhanced access to thousands of property details through their mobile phones.
The Rightmove mobile service (mobile.rightmove.co.uk) enables mobile customers to search for properties by postcode, or ones close to their current location. Property photos and maps for over 650,000 UK properties can be accessed on the move. Users can also save property details to their mobiles to download to their home PCs, request a call back from agents, or contact agents directly.
Rightmove is widely known as the best place to find property on the Internet says Rightmoves Product Development Director, Peter Brooks-Johnson. We felt it was important to extend that service to people on the move. Given the rapid rise in use of the mobile Internet we think it will be a big help to both home buyers and sellers.
Brooks-Johnson also says that 2ergos service helped the company overcome fears about entrusting a third party to build and operate its mobile site, given Rightmoves reputation for simplicity and reliability.
2ergo is an innovative company with proven experience in providing excellent service” he says. “The quality and speed of the development, along with their project approach has been very impressive and we are looking forward to a long-term relationship with them.”
