Image compression specialist Human Monitoring has entered into a strategic partnership with Innoace, a Korean mobile solutions provider. Using Human Monitoring’s ‘hipix’ still image compression technology, Innoace says it will develop mobile apps that will enable 8 Megapixel MMS images to be delivered across mobile networks using less than 300KB of data, using the h.264 video codec.
“Our technology changes the way images are transmitted and viewed,” says Human Monitoring CEO, Meir Kollmann. “The synergy between Human Monitoring and Innoace will ensure that our solutions are made available to the Korean mobile and TV markets, quickly and efficiently. Leveraging the experience and knowledge of Innoace will enable operators and handset manufacturers to revolutionize still image transmission, and change the user experience beyond recognition.”
