Hyundai-Google Partnership Puts Maps in Cars

Alex Spencer

Hyundai Motors Group has signed a partnership with Google to incorporate its Maps APIs into the telematics platforms in its Hyundai and Kia cars.

As well as the basic Maps and Google Places functionality, the integration will bring Voice search – useful for hands-free navigation – and Google Send-to-Car, which enables users to send directions to their GPS remotely from their mobile device, to Hyundai’s Blue Link and Kia’s UVO eServices systems.

Hyundai joins Audi, Daimler and Tesla Motors as the latest automotive company to incorporate Google's technology into its vehicles.
