Hyundai Mobile Makes UK Debut

Hyundai Mobile Europe has announced the launch of Hyundai Mobile UK. The announcement comes on the back of successful handset deployments with network operators including Pannon the second largest operator in Hungary, Mobiltel in Slovenia and German operator, Eplus. In addition, further operator agreements are pending in Austria.
Hyundai Mobile UK aims to reach a market share of 3 to 5% within five years.
Hyundai is one of the five biggest car manufacturers and is ranked 72nd in the worlds most valuable brands, which is bound to provide a positive image transfer to Hyundai mobiles, says Hyundai Mobile Europe CEO, Norbert Winkler. The excellent global sales contacts from Hyundai Corporations 120 distribution partners have already enabled us to build up a wide European sales network in just a few months. We are delighted to have now secured a base in the UK and look forward to developing the business in what is clearly one of the most important territories within Europe.
The company is currently selecting a limited number of candidates for roles within Hyundai Mobile UK, commencing with a Head of Sales, responsible for networks and distributors. In addition, it is inviting potential business partners to view the product portfolio on the Hyundai Mobile stand (2D08) at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.
10-15 handset models are planned annually across Hyundais Basic, Music, Lifestyle Innovation and Business product segments. Devices in the business sector, including Windows Mobile-based devices, are due for launch in the first half of 2009.
