Iconosys Help You Fight Back Against Kony

After Invisible Childrens Kony 2012 video went viral on YouTube and across the internet, receiving over 137m views and exposing the atrocities inflicted on Ugandan children by a guerilla group led by Joseph Kony, many people have wondered how they can help. Donate money, perhaps? Get involved in protests?

Well, now, theres another way – beat up the person responsible. In a mobile game, of course.

Thats thanks to mobile safety app developer Iconosys, which has released the Kick Konys Ass app for Android. According to the company, the game is “an attempt to provide some relief for those distraught and frustrated from seeing and hearing about the crimes against humanity as shown in the Kony 2012 video.”

While, as the press release is careful to note, Iconosys does not endorse violence in any way, the game enables users to deliver a left hook, right cross, and roundhouse to Jospeh Konys simulated face, by tapping on the smartphone screen.

Best of all, you can help the cause by sharing the results of your time with the virtual warlord on your Facebook page.

Perhaps the app is genuinely intended as a cathartic release – a technological stress ball, or punching bag – and apparently, all proceeds will be donated the Worlds Childrens Fund and other charities helping those affected. But, at the very least – its a bit odd, isnt it?
