Iconosys Launches Update to Driving Safety App

Iconsys has announced a new version of its driving safety app. Called DriveReply 2.1, the update for the Android app sends auto-replies to text messages when the user is driving over a speed of 10-15mph.

The app also lets users isolate callers that must always get through to the phone, and also set up an no-reply list for numbers that do not need a auto-reply.

DriveReply 2.1 also features an Accident Recorder utility, which helps ensure that the user  records all the necessary insurance details in the event of an accident. This feature uses the phones GPS to log the vehicles exact location.

“While other companies out there are trying to make a quick buck off of the much-needed solution to the epidemic of texting while driving, we have found a way to make our product free during National Distracted Driving Awareness month,” says Iconosys CEO and co-founder, Wayne Irving II. “When the app is activated, the phone is silenced, yet continues to run in the background, managing your inbound SMS and call traffic, while allowing the driver to remain focused on his/her primary task – driving.”

DriveReply 2.1 is available from Android Market, GetJar, and soon the Amazon App Store. The upgraded app will also be available in the next few days in Spanish from the Android Market or from Motorolas Shop4Apps Appstore for Central and South America.
