Microsoft Band, the computing giants first step into the wearable market, wasnt leapt on by consumers, with many pointing to poor battery life and an uninspired design as key problems. Microsoft have attempted to remedy at least one of those things with the second model, with leaked photos of the device, which will be released next month, showing a curved screen.

According to Microsoft Insider, the device will sport a new metallic finish on the front of the display panel and includes physical buttons as well as a touch screen, for improved navigation through functions.

Inside, the Band 2 will supposedly expand its sensor range, with elevation measurement bundled in with a UV sensor, optical heart rate sensor, 3-axis accelerometer, ambient light sensor and more.

The device aims to occupy the same position as other health and productivity wearables like the Fitbit and Misfit, with a refreshed version of the Microsoft Health app expected to arrive with the new Band aimed at syncing biometric data between the wearable and users smartphones.
